Also called yawara, nahuel, canguçu and onça-pintada. Just like the tiger is common in Khejal and the lion in Kosinbia, the jaguar is found in northwestern Sarba, from Ka'aari to the Fiery River. They also exist in smaller numbers on the kavajan plains and rivers.
The jaguar has a bite strong enough to pierce the shell of turtles. It can jump three meters in height or distance without the need to run first. Can climb trees easily and spends a lot of time swimming to hunt alligators. It also hunts boars, big fishes, anacondas, maned wolves and cabyparas. Lacking wild prey, it goes after horses, dogs, cows and pigs. It usually stalks and ambushes its prey. It marks the territory with scratches and urinates in trees.
Northern lords hunt jaguars when they need to prove their skills in fighting for their peers. If they want to impress the common people, arrange fights in arenas. The Ka'aari's barbarians fear this animal: they believe that eclipses are caused when a jaguar-shaped demon with a lapis lazuli hue scares away the sun and the moon. Some local shamans become blue werejaguars to use this fear and dominate their tribes.
