Sacrophysics III - Gravity, the planet and its interior

Do you like where you live? No? Has ambivalent emotions regarding it? Whatever your answer is, you must have strong feelings about one or more places. In the planet Ghara, center of the Atma setting, this generates gravity. For it is a consequence of prana concentration, not mass as in the real world. This allows for "living*" asteroids with gravity equal as that of a planet, or desolate planets where huge pieces detach and float.

The planet has gravity because it has a soul, the result of the daily feelings of a billion mortals over its surface and interior. The cosmic purpose of planets like Ghara is to create an appropriate space for mortals. Because of this, the planet's soul** makes it so gravity, and several other factors, uniforms at its interior. The planet's underground isn't entirely solid, but includes: caves so vast that they have clouds; rocky pillars which bear entire nations on the surface; seas illuminated by telluric lightning; networks of magma crossing the planet, like arteries***; the cluster of pure prana in the center, so shiny it burns one's eyes; forests of semicrystalline plants**** and fluorescent**** mushrooms; colossal worms boring new tunnels, as well as small carbuncos feeding on the precious crystals left on its wake. Eve the dwarfs of Kurskgrad have only explored a fraction of this space. Uncountable generations of beings and many civilizations might exist under the feet of the known world. Theoretically, one could enter a deepless pit and arrive at the other side of the planet. Who's willing to test it?

*Bearing a nexus, which is a soul linked to so many ley lines that it becomes something greater in the cosmic scale, a core of the local ley web. Nexuses can be spirits, minor gods, powerful adventurers, old trees and many other things. Many cities have their own nexuses. These entities might, if willing to, communicate with mortals. This opens up the possibility that one might negotiate access to the ley web. two benefits of this access are: teleport through the web; or to travel inside it to rescue the soul of a dead friend. This, plus the right ritual, allows one to resurrect someone.

***The kurskians think of the underground rivers as veins. When water and magma meet, they generate tremors and even earthquakes.

****The energy sources of these living beings are the pranic radiation (pranatrophic), magnetism (magnetrophic), heat (thermotrophic) and rock (lithotrophic). And so they become the basis of the underground biomes, as diverse and unique as those above the earth.
